The home comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, making it ideal for families, couples, and groups traveling together.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
The property features 5 bedrooms with comfortable sleeping accommodations for up to 12 guests. With multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, the home offers plenty of space and privacy for larger groups.
Is the hot tub private?
Yes! The property features a private outdoor hot tub surrounded by beautiful pine trees. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking, skiing, or exploring Big Bear.
Does the property have a game room?
Yes. The dedicated downstairs game room provides additional entertainment space and is a great place for kids and adults to hang out, especially after a day of outdoor activities.
Is there a fireplace or fire pit?
Yes! The home features a wood-burning fireplace indoors as well as an outdoor propane firepit. Guests can cozy up by the fireplace or gather around the firepit and enjoy the mountain setting.
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
Yes. The remodeled kitchen is fully equipped with the essentials you’ll need to prepare meals during your stay, including cookware, dishes, utensils, and appliances.
Is parking available at the property?
Yes. The property has designated driveway parking for guests. Street parking is not allowed. All vehicles must be parked in the property's driveways at all times. During winter weather, guests should also be prepared for snow and changing mountain conditions that may affect driveway access.
Does the property have air conditioning?
The property does not have air conditioning. Big Bear's mountain climate is generally cooler than lower elevations, particularly in the evenings. During warmer summer days, guests can enjoy the fresh mountain air and use the home's windows and fans to help keep the space comfortable.
Are outdoor music and noise allowed?
We want you to enjoy your stay while also being respectful of our neighbors. Outdoor music, amplified sound, parties, and excessive outdoor noise are not permitted. Please keep outdoor activities and conversations at a considerate volume and observe all applicable quiet hours and local noise regulations.
Is EV charging available?
Yes. A 240V outlet is available for guests who need to charge an electric vehicle. Guests should bring the appropriate charging equipment for their vehicle.
What should I know about visiting in winter?
Big Bear can receive significant snowfall during the winter months. Weather and road conditions can change quickly, so guests should be prepared for winter driving conditions and check the forecast before traveling. AWD/4WD and snow chains may be recommended or required depending on conditions.
Important Things to Know Before Booking
We want you to have a wonderful and relaxing stay at Elmwood. Before booking, please take a moment to review these important details:
🌲 Mountain Environment
Elmwood is located in a peaceful residential mountain neighborhood surrounded by pine trees. Wildlife, pine needles, insects, and other natural elements are part of the mountain experience.
🔇 Quiet Hours & Good Neighbor Policy
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Outdoor music, amplified sound, parties, and excessive outdoor noise are not permitted. Please be respectful of our neighbors and keep conversations, gatherings, and activities at a considerate volume.
🚗 Parking
Street parking is not allowed. All vehicles must be parked in the property's driveways at all times. Please plan accordingly when traveling with multiple vehicles.
❄️ Winter Weather & Snow
Big Bear experiences winter weather and snowfall. Road and driving conditions can change quickly during storms. Guests should be prepared for winter driving conditions, and AWD/4WD and/or snow chains may be recommended or required depending on conditions.
⚡ Power Outages
Occasional power outages can occur in Big Bear, particularly during severe weather or winter storms, and may be outside of the property's control. If an outage occurs, please contact us so we can assist and provide any available updates. We recommend bringing a portable charging station or power bank to keep phones and other essential devices charged in case of an outage.
🌡️ No Air Conditioning
The property does not have air conditioning. Big Bear's mountain climate is generally cooler than lower elevations, especially at night. Fans and natural mountain airflow can help keep the home comfortable during warmer weather.
🔥 Fire Safety
For safety reasons, wood-burning fires are not permitted in the outdoor fire pit. The outdoor fire pit may only be used with propane. Please do not burn wood, firewood, branches, or other materials in the outdoor fire pit.
The indoor wood-burning fireplace may be used according to the property's posted instructions and applicable local regulations. Outdoor fires may be restricted during periods of elevated fire danger.
